Responsibilities:

Assist in database design and implementation for healthcare applications
Learn and maintain database systems under guidance of senior engineers
Write and optimize basic queries for data retrieval and reporting
Support database backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures
Monitor database performance and help identify optimization opportunities
Assist in troubleshooting database-related issues and user queries
Document database schemas, procedures, and processes
Help implement data integrity checks and validation rules
Support data migration and import/export tasks
Participate in team meetings and learning sessions

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Basic understanding of database concepts and data structures
Familiarity with any programming language
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of data relationships and basic logic
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work in India time zones with some US team overlap
Eagerness to learn database technologies and best practices
Self-motivated with ability to manage time effectively

Will be a plus:

Knowledge of SQL basics or any database coursework
Experience with any relational database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
Understanding of NoSQL concepts (MongoDB, Cassandra)
Familiarity with data modeling and normalization
Basic programming skills in Python, Java, or similar
Understanding of data structures and algorithms
Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
Any data-related project experience (academic or personal)
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
