We're seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Developer to lead the development and architecture of user interfaces for our behavioral health EHR platform. In this senior role, you'll drive frontend technical decisions, mentor junior developers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, performant web applications used by thousands of healthcare providers. You'll work with complex healthcare workflows including billing, clinical documentation, and practice management features. Responsibilities:

Lead frontend architecture decisions and establish development standards for our EHR platform
Mentor and guide junior frontend developers through code reviews and pair programming
Design and implement complex UI components for healthcare workflows and data visualization
Optimize application performance, reducing load times and improving responsiveness
Collaborate with backend teams to design efficient API contracts and data flows
Maintain and refactor legacy code while ensuring system stability
Establish frontend testing strategies and quality assurance practices
Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions
Drive UI/UX improvements based on user feedback and analytics
Coordinate with offshore team members and manage distributed development efforts
Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues affecting users

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
7+ years of frontend development experience with JavaScript-based applications
Expert-level JavaScript knowledge including ES5/ES6+, closures, prototypes, and async patterns
Strong experience with MVC/MVVM frameworks and single-page applications
Proven experience maintaining and optimizing large-scale production web applications
Deep understanding of DOM manipulation, event handling, and browser APIs
Expertise in responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, AJAX, and state management patterns
Experience leading and mentoring development teams
Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills for complex frontend issues
Strong communication skills for working with distributed teams

Will be a plus:

Experience with AngularJS 1.x or similar MVC frameworks (Backbone.js, Knockout.js)
Healthcare industry experience, particularly with EHR systems and medical billing
Knowledge of modern Angular (2+), React, or Vue.js for migration planning
Experience with legacy system maintenance and modernization strategies
Familiarity with healthcare workflows, HIPAA compliance, and PHI handling
Experience managing offshore development teams, particularly in India
Knowledge of build tools (Webpack, Gulp, Grunt) and CI/CD pipelines
Expertise in frontend security best practices and vulnerability prevention
Experience with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js)
Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and Section 508 compliance
Knowledge of micro-frontend architecture and module federation
