We're seeking a Technical Writer to create comprehensive documentation for our behavioral health EHR platform. You'll build our knowledge base from the ground up, creating user guides, training materials, and help articles that enable healthcare providers to effectively use our system. This role requires someone who can translate complex healthcare workflows into clear, accessible documentation. You'll work closely with our product, support, and implementation teams to identify documentation needs and ensure accuracy. The ideal candidate understands that in healthcare, good documentation directly impacts patient care quality. Responsibilities:

Build comprehensive knowledge base with 100+ help articles
Create user manuals for each module (billing, clinical, scheduling)
Write step-by-step guides for complex workflows
Develop quick reference cards and cheat sheets
Document new features and product updates
Create video tutorials and interactive guides
Maintain release notes and change documentation
Organize content for easy navigation and search
Collaborate with support team to identify documentation gaps
Work with product team to understand upcoming features
Review and update existing documentation regularly
Create role-specific guides (providers, billers, administrators)
Develop training curricula for new customers
Ensure documentation meets healthcare compliance standards
Track documentation usage and effectiveness metrics

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field
3+ years of technical writing experience
Portfolio demonstrating clear, user-friendly documentation
Experience with documentation tools and platforms
Ability to understand complex software functionality
Strong organizational and project management skills
Experience working with support and product teams
Excellent written and verbal communication
Self-motivated with ability to work independently
Attention to detail and accuracy

Will be a plus:

Healthcare software documentation experience
Knowledge of EHR systems and medical billing
Understanding of behavioral health workflows
Experience with knowledge base platforms
Video creation and editing skills
API documentation experience
Understanding of HIPAA requirements
Experience with markdown and HTML
Familiarity with agile development
