We're seeking an entrepreneurial VP of Sales to build and lead our sales organization from the ground up. This is a player-coach role where you'll initially carry a personal quota while building the sales infrastructure - processes, playbooks, team, and strategy. You'll sell our behavioral health EHR platform to mental health and substance abuse practices nationwide. This role requires someone who can sell complex enterprise software to healthcare organizations, navigate long sales cycles, and build relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders. Perfect for experienced sales leaders who want the challenge of building something from scratch and the rewards that come with driving revenue growth at a scaling healthcare technology company.
Responsibilities:
- Personally close initial deals while building sales infrastructure
- Develop sales strategy, process, and methodology
- Create sales collateral, demos, and presentations
- Build and maintain pipeline of qualified prospects
- Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities
- Hire, train, and manage sales team as we scale
- Establish sales territories and quota structure
- Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts
- Collaborate with marketing on lead generation
- Work with product team on roadmap priorities
- Create sales forecasting and reporting systems
- Build relationships with key accounts
- Represent company at industry conferences
- Develop channel partner strategy
- Report to CEO/board on sales performance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
- 7+ years selling enterprise software with 2+ years leadership
- Proven track record of exceeding quotas
- Experience building sales teams from scratch
- Healthcare software sales experience required
- Understanding of long, complex sales cycles
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Experience with CRM systems and sales tools
- Ability to sell to C-level executives
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter
- Willingness to travel 25-40%
Will be a plus:
- Behavioral health or EHR sales experience
- Existing relationships with healthcare practices
- Experience selling to medical practices
- Knowledge of healthcare billing and RCM
- Experience with value-based selling
- Track record at early-stage companies
- Understanding of HIPAA and compliance
- Experience with channel partnerships
